Sharon Beets
With a dream of helping others, Sharon Beets opened Brighter Dimensions Family Counseling Center over ten years ago, knowing she could cultivate an environment to help all people succeed. Her compassion and heart have helped drive Brighter Dimensions into the triumph it is today, having helped hundreds of clients in the Tulsa area. Sharon is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. Her specialties focus on tailoring treatment needs to family and individuals lifestyles. Sharon received her B.S. in Accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1989. She then completed her teaching certificate in math and business. Through her teaching experiences, Sharon discovered a desire to help her students with their social needs that would ultimately help them become more successful with their studies. In 2009, Sharon began the pursuit of her Masters in Community Counseling from SW Oklahoma State University. Sharon has seen the benefit of using play in her treatment with children, and meets each child, family, and individual where they need the most care. She looks for the positive growth in each client and guides clients to be the person they desire to be. Her care extends beyond work and toward her family and friends. Sharon enjoys spending time traveling the world with her three children and their dad, going to concerts, and supporting Oklahoma sports.

Clinical Director
Stephanie Horton
​Stephanie Horton is Brighter Dimension’s co-owner and clinical director; two roles that she leans into with care and compassion, as she strives to see Brighter Dimensions, her clients, and the new therapist she trains each find success. Originally from, Oklahoma City, she proudly now calls Tulsa home. She is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University, with her Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor supervisor and Registered Play Therapist supervisor and has more than 15 years’ experience. She enjoys working with children, teenagers and adults. She uses evidence-based approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Sand Tray and is EMDR trained. Early in her career, Stephanie knew that she had the drive to help clients, but also the skill set to encourage and train newly licensed therapists. Her professional dedication has influenced many. Ever the crafter, she enjoys creating and designing T-Shirts with positive messaging. In her free time, she also enjoys reading and spending time with family.

Brittney Zickefoose
Brittney grew up in East Texas but moved to Oklahoma over a decade ago to attend college. She earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma and a certification in Infant Mental Health from Oklahoma State University. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Registered Play Therapist, Brittney supports infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and their families using a strengths-based, trauma-informed, person-centered approach to tackle challenges such as anxiety, depression, neurodivergence (ADHD, gifted, Autistic), loss of a loved one, trauma, foster care, adoption, divorce, school transitions, and other life changes.
Brittney is certified in Theraplay® and AutPlay® and is currently pursuing certification in EMDR. She provides individual, family, and group therapy both in person and via Telehealth. Outside of work, Brittney enjoys cuddling her Maine Coon, Niklaus, and her Pekingese, Elijah. She loves painting, reading, completing puzzles, hiking, and fishing with her friends and family.

Dianna Schrimsher
Dianna holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling specializing in crisis and trauma. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Dianna is a registered play therapist, and she is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and infant mental health. Dianna enjoys working with a diverse range of individuals, including children, teens, adults, and families. She is passionate about helping others reach their full potential by providing a safe and non-judgmental space where people can comfortably share their stories and learn new coping skills or approaches to life's challenges. She considers each client as an individual and meets the client where they are. She has experience helping clients with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, low self-esteem, and managing family issues. Dianna enjoys spending time with her family, fostering dogs, and making quilts in her free time.

Lauren Kenninson
Lauren Kennison is a dedicated mental health therapist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Health) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She studied at Oklahoma State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master of Science degree in school counseling, specializing in mental health counseling. After years of working as a school counselor, Lauren made a pivotal decision to devote herself full-time to mental health and play therapy. With extensive experience across various therapeutic environments, Lauren has honed her skills in addressing the unique mental health needs of children, adolescents, and adults. Her compassionate approach and personalized treatment plans empower her clients to navigate their challenges and achieve emotional well-being. Outside of her practice, Lauren enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling to new destinations, and weightlifting, which helps her maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Her diverse interests and dedication to her profession make her a well-rounded and approachable mental health professional.

Darcy Linam
Darcy Linam is a dedicated and compassionate therapist committed to helping individuals navigate their journey toward mental health wellness. At the core of Darcy's practice is a client-centered approach,

collaborative process. By creating a safe and non-judgmental space, she empowers clients to explore
their thoughts and feelings, develop effective coping strategies, and build resilience. Darcy earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical mental health from Northeastern State University. She has worked with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma. Outside of the therapy room, Darcy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, engaging in board game nights where laughter and friendly competition bring everyone closer together. She also values self-care activities like going to the gym, pedicures, and at home facials with her daughter. Sarah Thompson
Sara Thompson is a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals of all ages navigate life’s challenges. She works with children, teens, and adults, providing a supportive and individualized approach to therapy. Currently, she is in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist, expanding her expertise in child and family therapy to better serve younger clients. Sarah is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Her passion lies in creating a safe and welcoming space where people can grow, heal, and develop the tools they need for a healthier life. Sara lives in Broken Arrow with her husband and has an adult stepdaughter. She is an avid animal lover and shares her home with a dog and two cats—one being a unique and affectionate Sphynx. In her free time, she enjoys painting, gardening, watching football and baseball, and playing D&D with friends. Whether supporting a child through play therapy, guiding a teen through life transitions, or helping an adult build resilience, Sara is committed to making a meaningful difference. Kate Bates
Katherine (Kate) Bates began her counseling career later in life but has long devoted her personal and
professional time to helping others. She spent more than thirteen years as a fundraiser for cultural and
human services organizations in Tulsa and Chicago and five years as co-owner of an estate sale and
appraisal company, in which she found joy and success supporting organizations that assisted tens of
thousands of people and helping families through what is often a difficult time. Additionally, she’s
served on nonprofit boards in Tulsa and volunteered at several others. Kate had long held an interest in
psychology and understood the benefits of mental health care, so when she was ready for a change in
career, she excitedly returned to school and earned her master’s in clinical mental health counseling
from the University of Oklahoma. At last, she has found the profession she was intended for and loves it. In her free time, Kate gardens, savors cherished family walks with Charley the dog, and plays with her
and her husband’s young daughter.

Michelle McMullen
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oklahoma and an Oklahomamnative. I earned my master’s degree in counseling from Northeastern State University, graduating with honors. I am committed to ethical practice, ongoing professional development, and providing high quality, compassionate care to every client I serve. I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where individuals and families can explore challenges, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change. Using an integrative, evidence based counseling approach, I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. I work with clients to address trauma, improve emotional regulation, navigate life transitions, and develop a healthy and confident sense of self. My professional experience includes over a decade of volunteer service in prison ministry, working closely with incarcerated individuals and their families. This work has strengthened my trauma informed perspective and deepened my understanding of resilience, healing, and the complexities many individuals face. My counseling style is client centered and collaborative, ensuring that each person feels heard, respected, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. I welcome children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families seeking support for a wide range of concerns. Alisa Longnecker
Alisa Longnecker has been practicing for 35 years. After completing high school in Tulsa, she moved to
Ada to attend East Central University, completing her bachelors and Masters degrees. She has provided
services in both outpatient and inpatient settings working with children, adults and geriatric clients and
spent 2 years in Colorado, working closely with Department of Children’s services, ensuring children and families received immediate behavioral health supports. Upon returning to Oklahoma, she became an Admin and clinical surveyor for CARF (commission on accreditation of rehabilitate facilities), traveling across the US reviewing and consulting with behavioral health facilities. Alisa and her husband were blessed late in life with a spunky little girl (now 11). They live a quiet life, working on building their homestead and tending to their animals.

Christy Hall
Christy Hall is a dedicated and passionate social worker who resides in Nuyaka, Oklahoma, on her family ranch. She shares her home with her two sons and two beloved dogs. Christy has always been driven by a commitment to making a positive impact in her community, which is reflected in her impressive educational and professional achievements. Christy graduated from Northeastern State University (NSU) in 2005 with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). Her dedication to helping others led her to further her education, and in 2015, she earned her Master of Social Work (MSW). Not stopping there, Christy pursued and obtained her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification in 2017. Her academic journey showcases her unwavering commitment to the field of social work and her desire to continually expand her knowledge and skills. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Christy takes great joy in watching her sons grow up and supporting their involvement in various activities, such as band and sports. She finds immense satisfaction in witnessing their personal development and achievements. Outside of her work and family life, Christy has a deep appreciation for the outdoors. She enjoys spending her free time gardening and tending to her flowers, finding solace and fulfillment in nature. Her green thumb and love for horticulture are evident in the beautiful, blooming landscapes she cultivates around her home. Sarah McGee has lived in Tulsa for 4 years with her husband and two daughters. Sarah is an LPC candidate on the path to full licensure, with a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from OSU, where she also studied Human Development and Family Sciences. Sarah is passionate about helping individuals overcome personal challenges and improve their mental well-being. With experience supporting clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress, she employs evidence-based techniques and a collaborative approach to therapy. Sarah works with individuals of all ages, from children to adults, and is dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their emotions and pursue personal growth. She is committed to empowering her clients to build resilience and make lasting, positive changes in their lives, while also guiding them to recognize their needs and integrate self-care practices into their daily routines. In her free time, Sarah enjoys crafting, spending time outdoors, and being with her family. Whether she’s working on a creative project, hiking, or simply relaxing with loved ones, these activities help her recharge and maintain a balanced lifestyle

Madeline Todd
Madeline Todd is our administrative assistant at the front desk. A native of Tulsa, she graduated from Northeastern State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, along with minors in criminal justice and social welfare. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northeastern State University, aiming to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). In the meantime, she enjoys working with our team to ensure the office runs smoothly. In her free time, Madeline loves spending time with her friends, family, and dogs.
